The nonprofit agency was awarded a $34,500 grant from the Pitney Bowes Foundation to support implementation and expansion of middle school programs in Stamford and Shelton.

“The Raymond P. Lavietes Foundation also awarded us with a generous $50,000 grant for general operating support in the Lower Naugatuck Valley,” said Bernadine Venditto, president of Bridgeport-based Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County. “We also won a $10,000 grant from the City of Danbury for support of learning experiences in Danbury.”

In addition, the Wells Fargo Foundation gave a $30,000 program grant, and a grant of $20,000 was awarded by the Louis J. Casale, Jr. Charitable Foundation for general operating support.

JAGFC also received a total of $41,500 from Odyssey Logistics & Technology which provided general operating support in addition to support of other experiences, as well as $23,000 from Synchrony Financial, which included support from their corporate foundation.

“The generosity from our partners helps us fulfill our overarching mission: to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy,” Venditto added. “Our vision is to ensure that every young person in greater Fairfield County is sufficiently prepared to pursue their career of choice and manage their personal finances. We empower young people to be active stakeholders in their communities, inspire them to be innovative thinkers and problem solvers, and prepare them to make smart life and career choices.”

“The need in our area is great,” she said. “It would not be possible to serve our young people and our community without the generous funding from corporate foundations like the Pitney Bowes Foundation and the Wells Fargo Foundation, private foundations like the Raymond P. Lavietes Foundation and the Louis J. Casale, Jr. Charitable Foundation, and corporate partners like Synchrony Financial and Odyssey Logistics and Technology. We are so grateful for their support.”
