(Bridgeport, CT) – Earlier last month, Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County was chosen to receive a $10,000 grant award from United Way of Western Connecticut. This funding is a part of United Way’s COVID-19 Resiliency Grant Program and is effective July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022. JAGFC was one of the 44 agencies that received funding throughout Stamford, Northern Fairfield County, and Southern Litchfield County.
The funds received in partnership with United Way of Western Connecticut will support JA’s efforts to provide work and career readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship programs to K-12 students in the Greater Danbury and Stamford areas, through the continuation of current programs and implementation of new ones. Junior Achievement’s relevant and innovative programs help to teach students the important skills that they need to succeed in a global economy.
“Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County is looking forward to partnering with the United Way of Western Connecticut,” said Bernadine Venditto, President of Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County. “It has been such a difficult time for families and communities in our area. With support from the United Way, JA can build a brighter tomorrow for young people.”
